Shower Curtain

My sample
I made my image into a completed room but this tutorial
is for the curtain only.
Bathroom

This tutorial requires: Jasc PSP.
A basic knowledge of PSP tools.
Some type of fill for your curtain. You can use a solid colour or obtain a fill image from Jane's PSP Tubes.com Or you can make your own using this tutorial; Kittywompuss.com

By following this tutorial you will get a basic knowledge of how to create a shower curtain. Once you have completed this you can modify the tutorial on your own to create a regular curtain instead of a shower curtain.

It is very important you save your work as you go along that way you won't have to restart...Trust me I speak from experience when I say it's a pain in the butt *grin*

Open your psp and the fill image you would like to use for your curtain. For this tutorial I am going to use this fill from Jane's site fill
Open a new image 500 x 500 pixels, transparent back ground. Make sure the new image is full size so you can see what you are doing. Add a new layer called rod. Using your preset shapes tool set to the following;
Draw a selection almost to the edges of your image but be sure to leave
enough room for the wall brackets. Don't make it too thick;
You may see a dark shadow on the right end of the rod...Using your
selction tool on rectangle cut it off... or you can use your eraser tool size 1 and erase it.
Add a new layer called bracket. Using the preset shape tool again with the same settings, draw a small rectangle on the left end of the rod. This is going to be the bracket that attaches the rod to the wall. If you like you can make it round to look like a suction cup instead. (I don't know about you but up under edit there is an option called undo....this is my best friend)*laugh*
Do the same thing on the right end.
Once you have it the way you like, using your retouch tool (the little hand) set to: soften...size 3...hardness 25... opacity 50...step 25...dencity 100. Soften the line where the bracket goes over top of the rod. Do this on both ends.
Looking at your layer palette make the rod layer active and soften the line where the rod meets the bracket. Do this at both ends. What you are trying to do here is make it blend together. Once done, merge visible layers and you should have something like this;
If you like you can save that image as a psp file and use it for future images or curtains. It can be colorized to change the look or you can apply different effects to it to change the way it looks.
Move your rod up a little higher on the image so you have room to work, but don't move it all the way to the top. Add a new layer called ring1. Using your dropper, choose a colour in your fill that you would like to use for the rings that hang the curtain from the rod. Again using your preset shapes tool with the following settings;
Draw a small ring about the size you want for your rings. Make it big enough that the curtain can hang from it without touching the rod. Move it into place and when you have it the size you like convert to raster layer.
Zoom in on the ring and using your eraser tool same settings as above, erase the left side of the ring where it goes over the rod. You want it to look like it is going around the rod.
Copy that ring layer and paste as a new layer 9 times positioning each ring onto the rod. Don't make them evenly spaced. Just put them wherever you like on the rod. Now you have 10 rings around your rod. Zoom in and make sure they are positioned on the rod so they appear to be around it. Merge visible layers.

Now we need to hang your curtain...we don't want peepers do we? *smile*.
